IN FRONT OF THE LIBRARY
In front of the library,
the willow leaves fall still.
No more whispers.
My heart speaks:
“There is nothing more—
nothing beyond
that which dissolves into the silence
and stays forever,
vast and full,
joyous and loving.”
THE WREN
Envious of the wren,
singing on, in bliss—
whatever song it pleases,
no matter who listens,
thinking nothing of it.
TO NOT KNOW
To not know
is not a failure.
It is how the flower grows,
how a child wanders at everything.
The sky reveals
the great mystery,
one we need not name.
It is not for us to know.
We might instead bow
to the quiet beauty of it all.
CHASING LOVE
Chasing love
is like a dog chasing its tail—
unnecessary.
It is already part of you.
UNDER THE NOISE
I do not need to reach.
The truth is not far.
It is here under the noise,
beneath the striving.
WEATHER
Judgment.
Control.
Feelings are only weather.
We are sky,
watching it all pass.
